Thanks to the Polls feature Admin can create and manage Polls for different User Groups and Languages.

To get to the Polls menu go to Admin Panel >> Layout and Content >> Polls:

At the top of the opened page you will see the option to enable or disable display of the Polls block on the front-end:

If this option is enabled a Poll will be available for users in the Polls block, for example:

 Note: A user can vote only once in a certain Poll (the system checks that by user's IP address)

If there are more than one active Poll created by Admin they will be displayed in Polls block in random rotation

Adding a New Poll

For creating a new Poll for users click on the "Add a New Poll" link on the Manage Polls page:

On the opened page you will see the "Poll Info" form to fill in:

- Language - select the language this Poll will be displayed for;

- Question - (mandatory field) specify the desired Question for the Poll;

- User Group - select the User Group this Poll will be available for (select "Everyone" for the Poll to be available for all types of users);

- Start Date - (mandatory field) set the date to start displaying the Poll on the site (by default this field is prefilled with the current date);

- End Date - set the date to stop displaying the Poll on the site (if you don't want it to expire automatically on a certain date - leave this field empty);

- Display Results for Users - enable this option to allow users viewing results of this Poll;

- Show Total Votes - check this box so that users would be able to see the total number of votes this Poll has

Once you finished filling in the form press the "Save" or "Apply" button to save the settings you made.

 Note: use the Apply button to save the changes and stay on the current page.

The newly created Poll will appear on the Polls table on the Manage Polls page:

To Activate/Deactivate a certain Poll or more than one Poll at once select them in the table (checking the boxes) and then press the "Activate" or "Deactivate" button above the table.

To delete a needless Poll, click on the red "Delete" icon opposite this Poll in the table. If you need to delete several Polls at once you need to select them first (checking the boxes) and then press the red "Delete" button above the table. Polls will be deleted from the system and cannot be restored only created anew.

Editing Polls

To edit a certain Poll you need to click on the "Edit" icon opposite this Poll in the table (for example the first Poll):

The "Poll Info" form will be opened where you will be able to edit Poll's settings and details.

 Note: "Poll Info" form when editing a Poll will have the same fields as the ones described above in the "Adding a New Poll" section.

Below the "Poll Info" form you will see the "Edit Answers" and "View Results" links:

  • Edit Answers

Click on the "Edit Answers" link to add answers for a Poll or edit the previously added ones.
At the top of the opened page you will see the "Add a New Answer" form:

Enter a desired answer in the "Value" field and press the "Add" button to save it.

If you need to add several answers at once you can use the "Add Multiple Values" button, the following form will be opened:

You simply need to enter desired value (press 'Enter' for separating values, do not use the 'comma' sign or space) and then press the "Add" button.
The new values will be added to the Poll and appear in the Answers table below.

This table contains all answers you added for this particular Poll:

For editing a certain answer click on the "Edit" icon opposite this answer in the table. You will see the answer value in the "Edit Answer" form above the table, e.g. 'Search engine':

There you can edit the answer value and then make sure to press the "Save" button to save the changes.


If you need to change the order of answers to be displayed for users - use the red pointer (to move an item down) and green pointer (to move it up) or simply drag and drop a certain answer to the needed position in the table.
Make sure to press the "Save Order" button, otherwise the changes you made in the order of answers to be displayed will not be saved.

If you need to delete a certain answer, click on the red "Delete" icon opposite this answers in the table.
And for deleting more than one answer at once you need to select them first checking the appropriate boxes and then press the "Delete" button located above the table:

Also if needed you can sort the answers in the table by alphabet, to do that you need to click on the "List Values" column title.

 Note: use the breadcrumb at the top of the page to return to the "Edit Poll" page:

There you will see the current results of this particular Poll
